Academy Awards Predictions
Thought this might be fun.
(Actor - Leading) Jamie Foxx, RAY (because everybody says so)
(Actor - Supporting) Thomas Haden Church, SIDEWAYS (because it was a good performance)
(Actress - Leading) Hilary Swank, MILLION DOLLAR BABY (because this film has to win some stuff)
(Actress - Supporting) Virginia Madsen, SIDEWAYS (because it was a good performance)
(Animated Feature) THE INCREDIBLES (because I've heard good things about this movie)
(Art Direction) THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA (I'm not even sure what art direction is, but this film sounds like it's very artsy)
(Cinematography) THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST (because it's a very cinematic film)
(Costume Design) THE AVIATOR (again, because this film has to win some stuff)
(Directing) SIDEWAYS (because the directing was really good)
(Documentary Feature) BORN INTO BROTHELS (never seen any of these)
(Documentary Short) THE CHILDREN OF LENINGRADSKY (...or these)
(Film Editing) THE AVIATOR (gotta win some more stuff)
(Foriegn Language Film) AS IT IS IN HEAVEN (never seen any of these...motorcycle diaries anyone? maria full of grace even?)
(Makeup) THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST (don't remember, but i think it had good makeup)
(Original Score) FINDING NEVERLAND (I don't really remember the score, but this film has to win something too)
(Original Song) "Al Otro Lado Del Rio" THE MOTORCYCLE DIARIES (good song, not that I remember it)
(Best Picture) MILLION DOLLAR BABY (because people say so)
(Short Film - Animated) LORENZO (never seen any of these)
(Short Film - Live Action) TWO CARS, ONE NIGHT (...or these either)
(Sound Editing) THE POLAR EXPRESS (why not?)
(Sound Mixing) RAY (it's a film about music, so it's gotta be good, right?)
(Visual Effects) I, ROBOT (better than Spiderman 2, IMO)
(Screenplay -Adapted) SIDEWAYS (my opinion, but a close call with motorcycle diaries)
(Screenplay - Original) ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND (my opinion)
So I guess come Feburary 27th we'll see how horribly wrong I am. Feel free to comment.

Last movie I saw: Mean Girls
One line review: Not that great, but could have been if it ended about 30 seconds earlier. (i.e. girls actually get run over by bus)
